Dr. Mao started his periodontal practice in 1978. Dr.Mao was born and raised in Washington D.C. He moved to Rome, Italy to finish his high school education. After that he attended Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine after which he did his Periodontal Residency at Boston University. Dr. Mao then moved to Towson, Maryland where he now practices and resides with his wife Stella. His two children Meredith and Bryan have recently moved out to start their own lives. Meredith has recently graduated from  Duke University School of Business for her master's degree in business administration after graduating from Princeton University. She is also now married to Josh Rosen. Meredith just gave birth to my first granddaughter, Kaitlyn Elizabeth.  Bryan now attends Univ. of California at Berkeley in California where he just started the MBA program after attaining his masters in mechanical engineering at Stanford University. Stella has been temporarily (becoming a permanent fixture here)working at the office; she attended Rosemont College outside Philadelphia after which she received her Master's degree in Chemistry from Villanova University. Dr. Mao enjoys many outdoor activities, including Golf, Baseball, Tennis, Swimming. He also is an avid computer programmer. In fact, he developed this website and many others. Dr. Mao is constantly trying to improve his techniques in patient care and patient communication skills. He tries to develop close coordination with referring general dentists and dental specialists.

Dr. Mao has a great sense of humor that has not only helped to contribute to Dr. Mao's success in dentistry , but has helped him view the world as an enjoyable place to live in. He loves to interact with people and thoroughly enjoys all his patients.
